Cynthia L. Bischof Memorial Foundation

CindyAs you know, or if you are visiting this website by chance, a tragedy on March 7th, 2008, will forever change us. A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend and a colleague, Cindy L. Bischof, was taken from this world through an act of violence. Our hearts are broken and we have been shaken to the core. We, the founding members of The Cynthia L. Bischof Foundation, are committed to preventing others from experiencing Cindy's pain and peril.

The outreach and support from those who loved Cindy, and even those who were not fortunate enough to know her personally, have been nothing short of overwhelming. Ideas, encouragement and donations are being received at lightning speed. Our gratitude goes out to each and every one of you. And we are grateful for your continued support, whether it be increasing awareness of violence against women, spreading our message, advocating for women's issues, financial contributions or contacting your legislators. The only mistake we can make is not taking the steps to stop future tragedies before they can occur.

We are currently in the process of sorting through a myriad of resources, building an information database, learning the landscape of the justice system and identifying the gaps within it. It is our intent to act as a catalyst for legislative and societal change. WE will be a voice for others who may not have access to resources. WE will be a model foundation, a prototype, for other families and friends faced with such tragedies. The Cynthia L. Bischof Foundation will be the change that Cindy wanted to see in the world.

Thank you for your continued support and inspiration.
